Punjab Approves Three Marla Plots for Affordable Housing Scheeme

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has taken a new step by approving the distribution of three Marla plots to the residents throughout the province, with the objective of promoting housing for low-income families.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a new initiative to allocate three Marla plots to residents across the province to provide affordable housing for low-income families. On Friday, after convening in a meeting in Lahore, it was decided that the first phase of the scheme would commence in Chistian. 666 plots shall be allotted in the first phase to the qualified applicants. Also, it has been reported that good work has been done under the housing scheme ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar.’ Disbursement of the first batch of loans has been completed to more than 900 applicants and the government intends to furnish and fix five homesteads built under the scheme.

This is a small part of the larger picture through which the Punjab provincial government is planning to mitigate the housing problem and improve the quality of life in the most populated province of the country. As per the officials, verification has been completed for 50,000 applicants’ data out of which 38,000 applications have been validated. The program’s website already has more than 600,000 registered users and attracted 325,000 applications. The Punjab government has further outlined a very patriotic agenda, that of completing the building of 47,000 houses by the end of this year and 100,000 houses by December of the following year. These strategies target improving the situation of family house ownership in the province.

Conclusion: The commitment of the Punjab government to tackle the housing problem and improve living standards for the disadvantaged is further emphasized by the project for the allocation contracts of three Marla plots, as well as the status of the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ project.
