Pakistani Rupee Strengthens for Third Day Against US Dollar

The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has recorded the third consecutive day of closing in the green against the US Dollar (USD). The currency opened at 278 and, remaining equally stable throughout the day, closed at 277.75, just higher than Friday’s close.

For the entire session, the interbank rate was mostly at 278/$ before finally closing at 277/$. In open market rates, values remained staggering between 278 and 280.

In fact, on a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has appreciated by 0.21 percent.

The PKR even did well against other major currencies:

Stable against the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and the UAE Dirham (AED).
Gained 10 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
Recovered by 14 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD).
Gained Rs. 1.07 against the Euro (EUR).
54 paisa against the British Pound (GBP).
