KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur Ready for Civil Disobedience Movement

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur has announced that the provincial government is prepared to obey an order by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to start a civil disobedience movement. It was with these statements that he addressed the media at the Peshawar High Court, clarifying that clear instructions were awaited to come from the PTI founder before going public action on it. Confirmed, that once the call comes, movement shall be undertaken without any delay.

I am that dynamic representative of the entire province and I do not need clearance from anyone, he put forward. He also said that did not ask for permission to see Imran Khan on the previous day.

Answering earlier comments on civil disobedience, on Sunday, Gandapur was clear that the announcement had come from the PTI leader and not him. “There is no clarity on it yet. We’ll go to civil disobedience when the picture becomes clear.” He was speaking to the media in Peshawar.

He indicated the demands of the party as among the release of Imran Khan, restoration of PTI’s mandate, and repeal of “unconstitutional” recent amendments to the Constitution.

Criticizing the federal government for the delayed talks with Afghanistan, Gandapur warned that if the federal government did not budge, he would be forced into action at the provincial level to obtain redress from Afghanistan.
