Pakistan’s envoy to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, had separate tie-ups with two prominent lawmakers: to consider ways to strengthen bilateral ties. During the meeting with Tom Kean, Congressman and Republican member from New Jersey, the agenda included establishing strong Pak-US relations, focusing on regional security, and strengthening economic and trade links.
Ambassador Sheikh underscored shared values and mutual interests as the basis of a strong partnership between the two countries. Shared opportunities for collaboration will also be explored in pharmaceuticals and IT.
During a separate meeting with Congressman Kevin Kiley, the Republican from California, the focus will be to strengthen bilateral links and create a shared vision for a more prosperous future. The discussions included topics such as trade, investment, IT, and agriculture partnerships, leveraging California’s dynamic economy for mutual benefit.

Ambassador Sheikh reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan to undertake a major effort to deepen the partnership with the United States in building strong economic and strategic linkages. Both lawmakers also expressed their priority interest in broadening dialogue and collaboration, thus connoting the importance of Pak-US relations in ensuring stability in the region and progress across the globe.
