Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Atta Tarar, announced decisive measures against the inciters of unrest in Pakistan during the press conference on Tuesday, immediately after holding a cabinet meeting. Criticizing, in particular, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Tarar added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, ruled by PTI, has dismissed the civil disobedience call made by the party’s founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It made a point of addressing the issue of online harassment of journalists and assured strict action against the radio listener-targeters and their families, making them accountable for it. He further claimed that the PTI had protested against all products affiliated with the army but had not said much about a boycott of Israeli goods. His last attack on the party concerned their non-appearance in the All Parties Conference on the Palestine issue.

He painted one picture in his accusations that PTI was trying to malign the national martyrs by making efforts that tarnish the image of Pakistan in front of the rest of the world. He added that the government tracked and traced all those anti-Pakistan elements.
As for the issue concerning the disagreement of religious scholars with the government regarding the registration of religious seminaries, Tarar emphasized that the government would work along with leading scholars in Islam to introduce real reforms.
