Azerbaijan Airlines flight 8432 fulfilled a journey undertaking at least 72 people when it crashed under the sky of Kazakhstan in its Aktau region on Wednesday. According to the Emergencies Ministry of the country, the passenger aircraft carried this load on its route from Baku to Grozny, in Russian Chechnya, which had to be changed on the route due to fog in Grozny.

After the crash, somehow the aircraft caught fire, whereupon the emergency services rushed to extinguish the flames. Initial reports projected there would be survivors, but the total number was still unclear. Meanwhile, the rescue mobilization from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations is continuing its work by using 52 personnel and 11 units of equipment to clear the site and work on details about the victims. So far, no information has been found regarding the cause of the plane crash.
Azerbaijan Airlines has not given immediate comments about the incident. Investigation by local authorities is ongoing.
