The Bahauddin Zakariya Express that makes the journey from Karachi to Multan derailed near Odero Lal station in Matiari, disrupting rail traffic on mainlines both up and down.
As per railway sources, many bogies have gone off track and have caused a delays to many passengers, including women, children, and older people, in harsh winter conditions.

Trains such as Khyber Mail, Green Line, and Sir Syed Express ran late between three to five hours while Millat Express was late by eight hours and Farid Express by five hours.
Pakistan Railways officials are looking into the case, which is the second derailment in two weeks. Earlier, Rahman Baba Express derailed at Drig Road’s station in Karachi due to a broken coupling, affecting the main domestic travel line.
