Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, inaugurated the Pink Scooter Scheme on Friday to empower female students in the province. The scheme will distribute pink scooters among students at the Government Girls Post Graduate Degree College as a first step in the initiative, for the next phase will see all 50 vehicles handed over to female students.
CM Bugti stated during the ceremony that this would be a pink scooter for every talented and merit-holding female student in Balochistan. The self-declared initiative also includes women teachers, students, and working women, making it the first of its kind in the history of the province.

The Chief Minister stated the empowerment of women is gravely needed, adding that when women in Balochistan are educated and active in society, the whole society benefits. He also cited the examples of female deputy commissioners in the province as an illustration of the growing role of women in leadership.
The event culminated with a lucky draw, under which 48 of the girls received their scooters instantly, while the remaining two will receive theirs next week.
