A senior Bangladeshi diplomat lodged a complaint with the Kohsar Police Station in Islamabad against unknown persons for harassment and intimidation. The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged under Section 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which refers to criminal intimidation. According to the diplomat, he is being stalked, monitored in his movements, and photographed without his consent.
Moreover, a scary letter has recently reached the Bangladeshi Representation, which terrified the diplomatic staff. Police have started a pursuit to discover and nab the perps.

This is developing at a sensitive juncture, as Pakistan and Bangladesh have been trying to grow bilateral relations. Since Sheikh Hasina, the former pro-Indian Prime Minister, took her leave, the interim government of Bangladesh has been taking steps to promote these ties, being led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.
On December 5, Bangladesh lifted the visa restriction for Pakistani citizens by removing the requirement of security clearance. The Security Services Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh has also directed its officers to expedite the visa process in order to foster closer travel and better bonding between the two countries.
