The first high-level Belarusian delegation, led by foreign minister Maksim Ryazanov, stepped into Islamabad ahead of President Alexander Lukashenko’s visit tomorrow. The 68-member delegation, including eight ministers and 43 business representatives, was ushered into the welcoming sounds of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, additional secretary for foreign affairs Shafqat Ali Khan, and Pakistan’s ambassador to Belarus, Sajjad Haider Khan. Extensive discussions between President Lukashenko and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are expected to mark this visit. The aim is to strengthen bilateral relations and explore cooperation across various sectors such as trade and investment, energy, agriculture, water management, education, health care, science and technology, as well as other fields. Several agreements, as well as memorandums of understanding (MOUs), are expected to be signed to commit to the enhancement of collaboration.

The arrival of this delegation represented the rise of engagement between Pakistan and Belarus-stronger and growing over time. President Lukashenko and Prime Minister Sharif would talk about numerous areas of cooperation and will pave the way for stronger bilateral ties. This visit has more messages for enhancing diplomacy but for the economic and political integration that may be opening room for both countries.
