On Monday, a new air route was inaugurated between Urumqi, the capital of the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China, and Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This is the first route operated in China by Belavia Airlines and consists of one round-trip flight using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The new route is expected to enhance connectivity between Western China and Eastern Europe, providing greater collaboration in investment, trade, digital economy, green development, and innovation in technology.

Urumqi International Airport, since the start of the year, has opened seven new international passenger routes and increased air connectivity with three countries. The total now stands at twenty-one, and all of the aforementioned routes enable international passengers to travel either towards or away from China.
