At a dinner that President Joe Biden hosted over this past weekend to celebrate the end of his term with Democratic donors and insiders, he jokingly asked the attendees not to jump into the White House pool. “Good evening everyone . . . If you have a seat, please take it. Don’t jump in the pool!” Biden was laughed at while making the statement at the formal tented event on the South Lawn that featured the pool and fountain as the backdrop.
“[First Lady] Jill [Biden] and I are hosting this dinner tonight for a very simple reason – to say thank you. Thank you to so many dear friends,” he continued, as captured in a video shared on C-SPAN.

“I mean, we started this journey to redeem the soul of the nation and define the light in the darkness. And I never could have gotten to where the White House has become without you; and we never could have gotten as much done as we did without you,” Biden said. “And that’s not hyperbole. I mean it from the bottom of my heart”.
In attendance were some of the biggest donors to the president, members of Biden’s cabinet, long-time supporters of the Bidens, and a number of former and current ambassadors gathering for this unique affair.
Some notable names in attendance included former Democratic vice-presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz and his wife, Gwen. The two were seen interacting with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo.

Yet, some of the donors who forked around $250,000 or so decided to stay away from the party. An insider said, “Insiders who were invited and didn’t go are calling it ‘the losers party. The insider elaborated, “Most said they did not want to be associated with the Dems right now following the embarrassing loss to Donald Trump in the elections, and anger over the $1.5 billion spent on the campaign that failed.
