For workers employed in government projects, now biometric attendance is compulsory in Kuwait. The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has directed the stipulation for biometric attendance into contracts as the government moves right towards another efficiency and transparency stride. Such an approach is for the super-fast-track completion of mega infrastructure projects and holds all accountable together with their workforce.

Now, each ministry and government institution should insert in their contracts the use of well-developed “fingerprint attendance” systems which shall be proportional to the respective magnitude of the project and workforce size. Regulatory compliance, monitoring of this directive, and timely completion of critical national projects should also be undertaken by government agencies.
There are many initiatives initiated in this regard by Kuwait, which is home to a very high number of expatriates. As part of its continuing efforts to present mobility to labor and more efficient labor management, the biometric attendance system installed is now a major milestone to accomplishing a goal for Kuwait’s balanced take in workforce regulation.
