Two men confronted the law for allegedly impersonating candidates during the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) at IBA, Karachi University. The two, identified as Abdul Majeed and Qaiser Ali, were arrested for trying to impersonate other candidates sitting for the MDCAT. Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code provides a charge at Mobina Town Police Station. The accused were also joined by the facilitators Kamran Haider and Mukhtar in this court action.
MDCAT 2024 retake which was held across Sindh was attended by more than 38,000 students earlier today, and the exam lasted for three and a half hours. The centers include NED University and the University of Karachi in Karachi. In adherence to Court instructions, IBA, Sukkur is responsible for this retest, and the authority confirmed that the exam consisted of 200 multiple-choice questions.

Attending the convenience of the candidates, different entry points are marked at the test center: Metroville Gate as well as Maskan Gate at Karachi University. The candidates were advised to avoid electronic gadgets such as phones and smartwatches and were instructed to bring their original admit slips along with one of the following documents for verification: CNIC, Juvenile Card, Passport, Matriculation Marksheet, or Intermediate Marksheet.
Dr. Asif Shaikh, Vice-Chancellor of Sukkur IBA, assured that the measures were sufficient to ensure a smooth test. “The papers are kept in high-security registers, with special teams deployed to oversee the test,” he said, denying any possibility of cheating or paper leaks.
