Beijing, the capital city of China, welcomes friendly ties with India and cooperation to slightly normalize ties between the two countries, according to Liu Jianchao, a senior minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. Liu remarked that these perceptions were most recently reiterated to Indian Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat during a meeting held at his Ministry on Tuesday.
According to a statement from the press office of the CPC, the talks held in Beijing revolved around the finalization of consensus reached by leaders of both countries and the restoration of bilateral ties to healthy progression. Liu underscored the importance of the meeting of Presidents at the 16th BRICS Summit hosted in Kazan, Russia earlier this year and termed it as a resuscitative step for the future perspectives of China-India relations.

“Such re-engagement speaks to the fundamental interests of 2.8 billion people of both countries and the larger aspirations of the Global South,” Liu said. Ambassador Rawat reiterated India’s commitment towards strengthening ties accentuating the time-honoured friendship between the two countries. “The areas of consensus far outweigh our differences,” he added, as he pointed out that India welcomed the positive developments in bilateral relations.
Both Rawats concurred that the year 2025, which will see the 75th anniversary celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations, posed an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with China. As he emphasized the country through which cooperation can be enhanced through the Chinese government, political parties, and civil society, he positioned India in readiness to engage with them. Both also stayed on that practical steps should be taken in keeping the momentum of the improved relations going forward, as well as on the potential for working together in achieving shared goals.
