Jointly built a stellar spearhead project for future development through advanced technologies and agreements with their Arab counterparts.
Over 200 collaborative projects have been jointly undertaken by China and the Arab world, which have benefitted nearly 2 billion people. Recent landmark cooperation deals signed between the two sides will bring respective partnerships to much higher heights while spearheading new technological advancements.
Strategic frameworks and high-tech innovations
On Thursday, China proposed “five cooperation frameworks” for building a China-Arab community with a shared future and the common interest of supplementing the above in the areas: Setting up an integrated joint space debris observation center, BeiDou application and development center, improvement in manned space missions, and innovation of passenger aircraft as well as AI, otherwise, powering real economy and promoting global governance system on powerful artificial intelligence. Last but not least, in activating economic and trade relations, China speeds up negotiations of bilateral and regional free trade agreements in a way that forwards the dialogue mechanism for e-trade cooperation.

Such hi-tech products included artificial intelligence, 5G, virtual reality, and space navigation, that dominated the 2019 China-Arab States Expo. The Lusail Stadium—the primary venue for the 2022 World Cup—was contracted primarily to the China Railway Construction Corporation. This was clear proof of the capabilities of China in engineering since the stadium hosted the World Cup final and featured on the 10-riyal banknote of Qatar.
Collaboration in Healthcare through Space
Beijing is pursuing space collaboration with nations committed to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). In 2018, Tunisia witnessed the establishment of the China-Arab States BDS/GNSS Center, which was the first overseas center to manage China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. This cooperation has bloomed and has come with BDS-related projects being deployed in other Arab nations. In a successful collaboration, China and Saudi Arabia share scientific data and released the Chang’e-4 lunar probe mission lunar images.
The UAE backed China’s clinical trials for its COVID-19 vaccine, including creating local production lines. In 2020, the UAE endorsed the registration of an inactivated vaccine designed by Sinopharm, a Chinese corporation, with the capacity to produce 200 million doses for worldwide distribution each year.
Renewable Energy-Future Prospects
Renewable energy cooperation was bound to be another pillar of this partnership. The mega projects was that of an 800-megawatt solar power plant at Al Kharsaah, Qatar, constructed by a Chinese company and a major renewable energy power plant in the Middle East. This power plant will enable Qatar in the sustainable development of its renewable energy goals and contribute to the sustainability of the 2022 World Cup. China and Qatar have signed a long-term agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas between both nations for more than 27 years. This will lead to both nations having secure supplies of energy and enhance economic integration.

With the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum’s (CASCF) execution plan (2024-2026) and joint statement regarding the Palestine issue among the met documents sealed at the 10th ministerial conference of CASCF in Beijing, the Chinese and Arab states also adopted the Beijing Declaration. Accordingly, the said comprehensive plan clearly restates mutual support specifically on core interests and collaterals in the following areas: infrastructure, resources, environment, cultural exchange, aerospace, education, and health.
