The east-route natural gas pipeline from China to Russia has been fully linked up as a complete functioning system in operation at full steam’s largest standalone gas transmission facility in China Mainland. PipeChina an oil and gas pipeline network corporation for China-announces a substantial annual transmission capacity of this pipeline, which is 38 billion cubic meters.
It is a 3,000-kilometer stretch on the Russian side and an impressive 5,111 kilometers on the Chinese part of an integrated energy cooperation embodiment between China and Russia. The Chinese segment starts at Heihe northeastern city that borders Russia and extends south to Shanghai, thus strengthening both the natural gas supply capacity and emergency peak-shaving capabilities across eastern parts of China.

The northern section has been running since December 2019 and has already managed to deliver over 80 billion cubic meters of natural gas source for the benefit of at least 450 million people along the route of the facility. This is part of the pipeline projects following the China-Central Asia and China-Myanmar pipelines, further strengthening China’s energy power tie with neighboring countries.
