Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during her official visit to China visited the Shanghai Experimental School (SEC) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The Chief Minister visited the departments of Shanghai Experimental School and inspected new approaches to teaching Artificial Intelligence (AI). She was shown a classroom where students were learning advanced AI concepts while experimenting with their AI-based projects.

CM Maryam wanted to know the AI curriculum, school budget, teaching methods, and the number of expert educators hired to help students learn emerging technologies. She also met Jia Ding District Bureau of Education Director as well as Xia Hongmei, the President of Shanghai Experimental School and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
She received, during this meeting, a full briefing on the education system in China especially in relation to AI education. According to the briefing, the school has strongly focused on providing training in AI for students between the age of 12 and 15. This program offers free AI learning for students in Shanghai and surrounding areas, making it attractive for school-aged students.
