Thus, US President-elect Donald Trump declared on Thursday that former Senator David Perdue is appointed ambassador to China. He also said that during his years-long career, Perdue created his own business-centric relationships with China.
“David comes as a Fortune 500 CEO with 40 years’ experience in international business and service in the US Senate, building value into the relationship with China,” Trump stated on his Truth Social platform. “He will be critical in executing my strategy for peace in the region and creating a productive working relationship with China’s leaders,” he added.

This appointment comes when Trump threatens further tariff imposition against Chinese goods if Beijing does not take stronger actions against the trafficking of fentanyl, creating dissolution in the economic tie. The ambassador to Chile was subsequently named as Brandon Judd, President of the Border Patrol Union. “I am confident Brandon will represent the United States as effectively as he has represented Border Patrol Agents as President of the National Border Patrol Council,” Trump said.
