Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, chaired a special Finance Division meeting regarding the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Wednesday. The meeting reviewed the status of implementation of various policy decisions previously taken by ECC in multi-sectors like finance, interior, industries and production, inter-provincial coordination, housing and works, food security and research, power, and national health services regulation and coordination.

During the session, the ECC was briefed on the overall implementation status of its decisions made in the past, and separate presentations were made by relevant ministries on the current status of pending issues and of actions taken and the need to resolve them. Delay in decisions was a matter of concern. Ministries were directed to improve their coordination and proactively work with stakeholder ministries and divisions to ensure timely compliance and completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Being present were Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Pervaiz Malik (virtually), federal secretaries, and senior officers from the concerned ministries and departments.
