Ten out of 11 proposed development projects worth Rs 172.7 billion were approved on Monday by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). A project proposed by the Ministry of Health was deferred pending further clarifications.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq chaired the meeting, which was part of initiatives on infrastructure projects to enhance Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa connectivity. Balochistan is the home to six of the proposed projects.

“The approved amount also includes an ECNEC approval on a project worth Rs. 29.2 billion for developing solid waste infrastructure in Karachi funded by the World Bank.”
