Adil Bazai has been re-registered as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for NA-262 Quetta by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), declaring him now to be an independent candidate.
According to an official communique issued by the ECP, Bazai would cease to be a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) after he was disqualified based on having strayed away from the party policy in casting votes on the budget and the 26th constitutional amendment.

The disqualification was lifted by the Supreme Court, which overturned the decision based on a reference filed by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif. During suspension on December 9, the significant court order ordered the ECP to hold in abeyance its November 21 decision, pending the final verdict against Adil Bazai.
The ECP had confirmed that its prior notification de-seating Bazai would remain suspended until a conclusive ruling of the Supreme Court.
