FBR Updates Password Policy to Enhance Taxpayer Security

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has altered the password policy and also introduced new measures to safeguard taxpayers’ credentials from threats.

Under the new Password Policy, the user is to change the password every 60 days for maximum security.

According to this new policy, all passwords shall expire after 60 days of creation, and the user will have to change it through the forgot password option.

Changing the password would, however, require that the taxpayer has the contact number and email address from which the account was opened; if lost, the taxpayer will no longer be able to do so easily.
