FIA caught three women on Sunday at Karachi airport who were supposedly flying to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, reported ARY News. As said by an FIA spokesperson, during routine checks the women were caught by the immigration team of the agency. On investigations, it transpired that these persons were lacking few necessary travel documents like return tickets and hotel bookings which naturally raised suspicion about their true intentions.
The authorities recorded the prior unsuccessful attempts of these women to fly abroad from Lahore airport. The women have been nabbed and will be shifted to the FIA Anti-Smuggling Circle for further investigations.

This is a continuation of a past incident monitored by the FIA when 24 people were caught at Multan airport trying to board a flight to Saudi Arabia. On interrogation, it emerged that they were not traveling for religious obligation, but were traveling with the intent to beg.
The emerging arrests occurred at a time when illegal trafficking networks were coming under intense scrutiny. Recently, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development informed the Senate Committee on Overseas Pakistanis that there is a disturbing trend whereby several citizens are trafficked abroad through illegal channels, and many of them end up begging.
