PTI Protest: Imran Khan calls his supporters to arrive in Islamabad on November 24th to launch another anti-government campaign and annul Constitutional Amendment 26.
Summary Call for Protest
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has issued a novel ultimatum to his loyalists to proceed to the federal capital on November 24 and call for an anti-government demonstration. Speaking to journalists in Rawalpindi, the attorney representing Imran Khan, Faisal Chaudhry, mentioned that the demonstration will be in Islamabad, throughout the country, and even overseas, wherever the PTI followers are.
Call for Nationwide and Global Agitation
The demonstration, termed tactical defiance, will be organized with the involvement of PTI leadership at all levels. Chaudhry remarked that a committee had indeed been put in place to manage the activities of the procession, adding that the names of the said committee members were not made public in order to mitigate their apprehension. He added that the committee would also be at liberty to call off the procession if the circumstances warranted that thus enabling leadership based on consensus.
Main Considerations
Chaudhry presented the main issues of the protest: the abolition of the 26th Amendment to the Constitution, the return of PTI’s post mandate which was “stolen” and the unqualified, untried release of detained PTI supporters. He added that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur would be heading a convoy from KP as part of the countrywide protest.
Aleema Khan’s Speech
In Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, also spoke to the reporters, reaffirming his appeal to the people of the country. She appealed to the people on whether they would like to live under “martial law or be free.” The founder of PTI has given a call to several segments of the society such as farmers, lawyers, students and civil society to come to Islamabad and raise a voice seeking protection of democracy and restoration of the party’s mandate.
Rejection Feb 2023 Elections
In regard to the February 2023 elections, Aleema Khan bore an unfavorable stance arguing that the peoples’ mandate was “robbed” and various individuals gained access to power in an unjustifiable way. On the other hand, she strongly opposed the Constitutional amendment 26, saying that it may give rise to a period of martial rule for ten years.

Winding Preparations for The Protest
KP CM Gandapur, while speaking in Peshawar, reiterated that the rally was in total readiness, further promising that there would be “no turning back this time” and that the demonstrators will stay put until the demands are achieved.
Imran Khan’s appeal to his support base for a protest across Pakistan and internationally on November 24 is directed towards the political transformations the PTI seeks and the withdrawal of 26th Constitutional Amendment. The objective of the demonstration is to show the party ability and willingness to combat these issues.
