Honor Launches 300 Series with Focus on Camera and Design

The Honor 300 series consists of the Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro, and Honor 300 Ultra. All three smartphones target very different needs but still share a common ground in the area of greater portrait photography.

These gadgets are extremely advanced technologically and excellently designed, making great competitors for the fiercely cutthroat mid-range segment. The Honor 300 and 300 Pro are what this article covers; the Ultra will be dealt with elsewhere.

Design and display

The Honor 300 series includes the Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro, and Honor 300 Ultra-which fine-tunes the above into premium gimmickry with usability. Honor 300 Pro features an interior-skimming OLED display of 6.78 inches that provides visual landmarks super bright and razor-sharp.

The refresh rate reaches peak brightness levels of as much as 4,000 nits alongside a refresh rate of 120Hz for smooth scrolling and interactions. Thus, it can deliver very good visibility under very direct sunlight. Also, the Honor 300, not as upgraded, gets a large 6.7-inch OLED display as well for an immersive viewing experience.

Both these devices are also IP65 dustproof and waterproofed under-display optical fingerprint sensors.

Internals And Software

Under the hood of the Honor 300 Pro sits a flagship chipset of last year, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, for top performance for multitasking, gaming, and other high-end tasks. It has a new RAM variant of either 12 GB or 16 GB with storage options of 256 or 512 GB.

It features an even less potent Snapdragon 7 Gen 3; however, the Honor 300 still provides stable performance, and it comes with 8, 12, or 16 GB of RAM and the same storage options. MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, with enhanced AI imaging, productivity, and daily use features runs on both devices.

Camera

Portrait photography is very well catered to in features of the Honor 300 family, and most importantly, the camera system. All models take photos with the 50MP f/2.1 lens when taking selfies, making it very well appreciated by vloggers and social media enthusiasts for perfect, sharp, and detailed selfies.

The Honor 300 Pro also features a pretty impressive rear setup comprised of a 50MP main camera supported with a hefty 1/1.56″ sensor dimension, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide one with autofocus. All three cameras comprise the Sony IMX856 sensor. Meanwhile, the Honor 300 doesn’t feature a telephoto lens but still boasts 50MP main and selfie cameras and a further 12MP ultrawide.

Battery and Price

The battery size of Honor 300 and 300 Pro is 5300 mAh. However, in addition to the 100W fast charging feature, the faster version is 80W wireless. The Honor 300 does not boost the involved 100W power supply. It is not surprising that the all-new Honor 300 started at €326, while the 300 Pro was priced slightly higher, at €520. Both will be available in several colors and packed with gifts, from the Honor Buds A, a tote bag, a thermos, a scarf, and more, which will no doubt sweeten the pot for buyers; however, these might only be available for the Chinese models.
