Reportedly, the International Cricket Council (ICC) postponed the meeting till tomorrow to resolve the fate of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The world governing body for cricket was meanwhile supposed to hold a virtual meeting today, even though there was a logjam regarding issues between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the BCCI.
The ICC was allegedly going to meet in the Champions Trophy to resolve the issue amongst the representatives of every cricket board into some amicable solution.

Reports have it that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had some key discussions at the International Cricket Council (ICC) headquarters in Dubai, prior to the all-important meeting of the ICC Board. Sources said that Naqvi arrived in Dubai and held one-on-one meetings with ICC officials, including with ICC CEO Geoff Allardice and other senior members.
These were reportedly meant to strongly argue for Pakistan’s case regarding hosting the Men’s Champions Trophy in 2025.
Naqvi kept firm in front of the ICC, taking Pakistan’s legal and cricketing case across, reinforcing the country’s desire to host this tournament.
The Champions Trophy 2025 became a contentious issue when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) based its reasons on security and refused to send its team to Pakistan.
However, the PCB has still not budged from its rigid stance on the hybrid model under which some matches will be played in a neutral venue. Hence, the ICC called a board meeting to discuss the future of the tournament originally planned for February-March 2025.
The decision of the ICC coming rather soon impacts much on the tournament in the future.
