Indus Motor Company Jams Production of Toyotas
In the statement issued by Indus Motor Company IMC, an assembler of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, production activities have been issued a temporary suspension notice effective from November 18 to November 20, 2024. This comes when the company faces a crisis caused by the lack of enough key materials and parts.
Supply Chain Disruptions
IMC filed on Friday and noted that continuing supply chain breakdowns exacerbate such challenges. The firm noted that procuring the required components has been a challenge, affecting the production capacity.
Impact on Production
The curtailment is short in nature and is an effort to control the existing shortage and facilitate quick turnaround. In spite of such plant closures, IMC sales have been on an upward trend and are, in fact, 56% higher than the same period last year for units sold in the first four months of the financial year.
