Ishaq Dar to Attend ECO Council of Ministers Meeting

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is on his way to Iran tomorrow to hold his presence at the 28th Council of Ministers for the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

‘This will be an occasion for him to repeat Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO charter when he will speak of the potential of increased regional connectivity,’ said the official statement.

He will plead for developing rail and roadway connections, for the liberalism of visa regimes and clearances, and for streamlining procedures at borders.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also share Islamabad’s concerns over the escalating conflicts in the Middle East, threatening regional peace and security. Additionally, he will sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center, further demonstrating Pakistan’s commitment to clean energy initiatives.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ishaq Dar may meet other Ministers and other dignitaries to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
