Islamabad Private Schools to Reopen after Winter Vacations

Despite the chilling weather, private institutions across the federal capital of Islamabad will commence classes on Monday, January 6, without extending the winter vacations. The update of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) regarding an unchanged schedule was noted among speculations made by parents on possible extensions.

Schools under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) are set to start on January 9, 2025.

Contrary to that, winter holidays in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have been extended due to s prolonged cold wave. The AJK Education Department announces that schools in the region, both public and private, can now open on February 6 instead of February 2.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the classes will restart on January 7, deviating from the earlier January 1. Classes at Punjab’s public and private schools will be closed until January 10, followed by the resumption of classes on January 13.

Colleges under the students of the Punjab Higher Education Department will also resume on January 6, 2024, as part of the winter break that began on December 24, 2024.
