Jasprit Bumrah, captain of the Indian team, left the Sydney Cricket Ground for scans after lunch on the second day of the fifth Test match against Australia. Bumrah, who has been the spectacle of the ongoing series, took 32 wickets at a phenomenal average of 13.06. He picked Marnus Labuschagne in the morning session and did not turn for the field after lunch.

The injury comes as a big blow to India since they have to win it in Sydney to level the series at 2-2, which means retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The team awaits scan results that shall determine how severe is Bumrah’s injury.
