Kazakhstan-US trade made headlines with $3.3 billion recorded in the first nine months of 2024. This has cemented its four-year record-making history in a round table organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where heads of American companies and members of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Council were present.
During the roundtable discussions, interventions were made to improve investment in logistics, infrastructure, agriculture, IT, and energy. In his remarks, Kazakh Ambassador to the U.S., Yerzhan Ashikbayev, highlighted opportunities in Kazakhstan regarding investments when he cited tax incentives and digitalized tax administration for enhanced transparency. He also spoke about high-level productive tours and the formation of new dialogue platforms, such as B5+1.

Meanwhile, Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President, International Member Relations, at the US Chamber of Commerce, said the other way of interest in trade partnership development is building U.S. investments in Kazakhstan. He referred to the next U.S. government in 2025 as an opportunity to enter into “permanent normal trade relations” with Kazakhstan.
Finally, representatives from US companies acknowledged Kazakhstan’s stabilizing role as well as its strength in transport and logistics within the New Middle Corridor. They also mentioned the plan to launch direct flights between the U.S. and Kazakhstan to foster economic and cultural exchanges.
