As per state media, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised that his country would “invariably support” Russia during its war against Ukraine on Saturday.
Kim met the visiting Russian Defense Minister Andrei Beloussov in the North Korean capital on Friday and underscored, according to the Korean Central News Agency, the increasing and close joint interaction between the two countries in many fields, including defense.
“The timely and effective measure that the Russian state and army undertook recently concerning the counteroffensive action against Ukraine informs the U.S., the West, and Ukraine, which are resorting to reckless military adventurism, of the seriousness of the situation as well as the will of Russia to take stiff countermeasures,” he said.
Similarly, Kim identified himself as of a good ally who believed in the fact that Russia’s policy was the defense of “sovereignty and territorial integrity” against the imperial’s moves for hegemony.
He expressed also his willingness to further the expansion of the two countries and development in all spheres like politics, economy, and military as per the agreement signed at the by North Korea-Russia Pyongyang summit in June this year.
This visit is said to have taken place amid allegations from the US, South Korea, and Ukraine that North Korea had sent these soldiers to Moscow’s support in Ukrainian territory.
