Recently, there has been a major raid by Lahore Police where they managed to arrest over 50 suspect persons for selling spare parts of stolen motorcycles. According to the police data, stolen motorcycles were found to be mostly more than five years old, to be precise more than 70% of them.
Most of the stolen motorcycles were brought to junkyards at Bilal Ganj and Misri Shah, where they were dismantled and sold as spares.

Most of those arrested for motorcycle theft are drug addicts themselves. According to SSP Taswar Iqbal, such items have been added to junkyards, and the following effects are felt in the number of motorcycle thefts in the area.
