Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, expressed the grief and sorrow that have been echoed across Pakistan over the years since that day to pay tribute to the martyrs of the incident on the 10th anniversary of the tragic attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar.
Maryam Nawaz said, “December 16, 2014, is a date in the heart of every Pakistani as a dark morning.” She was talking about the terrible day when terrorists attacked this school and left 147 innocent children and their teachers dead in a single act.
The Chief Minister further commented: “These are the students who were brightening their future for the country through education and suffered at the hands of terrorism.”

She said that the APS attack was an attack not only on a school but against humanity, education and the bright future of Pakistan. “The sacrifice of these innocent students and teachers has taught us an important lesson that eradication of terrorism is fundamental and we are for that,” she added.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif saluted the parents and families of the APS martyrs for demonstrating significant bravery and tolerance in what they have been through. She emphasized that the 147 APS martyrs dream of a better Pakistan; it is now up to the nation to make that dream a reality.
“Our battle against terrorism shall continue until we win,” ended Maryam Nawaz, giving homage to the ever-increasing number of people who lost their lives in one of Pakistan’s most heart-wrenching tragedies.
