She stated that such attacks on Punjab Police were done with the alleged use of police weapons with incidents of firing in Ghazi Barotha, Mianwali, Hazara Motorway, and other areas. In spite of these provocations, Punjab Police remained unarmed for the sake of clash avoidance.

Maryam Nawaz alleged PTI for having used provincial government resources for agitation, qualifying it as armed terrorism rather than a legitimate demonstration. She added that previously in the same protest, one police constable was martyred whereas more than 25 personnel received injuries.

The chief minister censured the usage of one province’s police force to attack another province, terming it a hit to the national unity and setting a deeply disturbing precedent.
