The largest Pakistan scholarship program for students was inaugurated by the CM of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, at Punjab University on Wednesday, seeking to provide bright future avenues for students in the country.
With certain recitations from the Holy Quran, the event began, and then a beautiful melodic presentation was done by the GC University Music Society with the national anthem and poetry by Allama Iqbal.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, during this ceremony, lived the interest of GC University students and praised their success, besides awarding a Guard of Honor to the awardees by a disciplined police squad.
An outline of the scholarship scheme was given bythe Secretary of Higher Education, Dr. Farukh Naveed. He announced for the first time scholarships to students from as many as 15 private universities in Pakistan. He further elaborated that previous strong performers in matriculation and intermediate examinations shall also be eligible for these scholarships.

Hamna Maqsood, a scholarship holder from the Faculty of Pharmacy, said on behalf of students to CM Maryam Nawaz that they are grateful for this provision.
Scholarship action is expected to be put in place in Punjab to empower students, with the output given to bright individuals going to further their higher education studies.
