The Ministry of Religious Affairs is set to announce openings for 5,000 more pilgrims under the Hajj application scheme in the coming days. The announcement was made during a meeting at the National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, chaired by MNA Aamir Dogar.
At the meeting, officials were briefed on preparations for the forthcoming Hajj, and one point stressed that food quality will not be compromised for pilgrims during the Hajj season. There were also discussions on the need for better training of officials to efficiently guide pilgrims during Hajj.

Among the topics raised was that of “proper guiding for Hajj persons” as emphasized by committee member Mujahid Ali, while associated progress was recorded by Aamir Dogar in awareness and training given at Hajj camps.
In relation to a question from Asiya Naz Tanoli regarding the lack of Pakistan Houses in Makkah and Madinah, the Secretary of Religious Affairs explained that this was prohibited by Saudi laws regarding the construction of such buildings on independent land.
The Secretary further informed that most of the services hitherto free, such as water coolers, are now to be paid for. However, he assured the Committee of all commitment on part of the Ministry to provide even the basic facilities for pilgrims.
