The Federal Controller of the Food and Drug Administration has today notified the restoration of the powers of the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after scrapping the law for the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.

The notification addressed that as the framework of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency was incomplete, so the powers were reverted back to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing. The laws of the agency will be reinstated once its structure is finalized.
Thus, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing again has the power to take action against cyber crimes, especially on social media. It was initially formed in 2023 to prosecute those committing crimes on social media.
