Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called the firing incident in Kurram’s vir Bagan area a deliberate conspiracy to derail the peace agreement recently signed in the area.
The two met during a sitting held for the Senate and discussed the current security in the country, with references to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the most ongoing situation in Kurram.
The two condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and others who had sustained injuries in the incident. Naqvi assured that the efforts of anti-state elements behind this attack had failed in their mission of disrupting peace.

Interior Minister revealed that DC Mehsud has been airlifted to a Peshawar hospital for advanced care. He praised the Grand Jirga elders and the security forces for their collaboration in restoring peace.
It takes time to materialize for the peace agreement itself, but ensures the safety and security of the citizens of Kurram. Recently, decisions taken by the apex committee of Peshawar concerning the implementation of real peace in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also highlighted by Naqvi.
The incident of firing occurred just days after warring tribes in Kurram had signed a peace pact amongst themselves and, hence, the violence again erupted on Saturday.
