Mohsin Naqvi has denied the allegations that he had attended an anti-China event in the United States. Naqvi was accused by social media reports, as well as local media, and Indian media, of attending an event by a lobbying group against the Chinese Communist Party. The minister dismissed these allegations as “propaganda,” stating that he attended an event organized by Gunster Strategies Worldwide, a public relations firm that was wrongly described as anti-China.

Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong bilateral relations with China, citing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a lifeline of economic activity. Other events and meetings participated in by Naqvi during his US visit included engagements with members of Congress, wherein he noted that certain US lawmakers were being instigated against Pakistan, which he deemed “harmful” to that country.
An important aim of the trip of Naqvi was therefore to devise a proper terrorism strategy with the coordination of American politicians. He was clear that this is a fight against terrorism that is common to all and is not merely against Pakistan. He hoped that the term of President Donald Trump would take Pakistan-US relations into new dimensions.
