It has emerged that the former corps commander for Gujranwala Lt Gen (R) Muhammad Aamir has been appointed as the next ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar.
This is part of yet another overall shake-up of diplomats, whereby new ambassadors are also being appointed to Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Indonesia, Morocco, Belarus, and Egypt.
However, this appointment will highlight how Pakistan would like to gain momentum with regard to its relations with Qatar significant partner in trade, energy, and expatriate employment.

Meanwhile, some top posts in Brussels and Warsaw have already gone months without any incumbent. The Brussels mission has been vacuum after three months of leaving the seat by Foreign Secretary Aamna Baloch; this mission deals with the European Union and Belgium.
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, was to be moved to the Brussels post but was pulled back at the very last minute, leaving the position still empty. The appointments will help fill some of the strategic gaps and give Pakistan better diplomatic coverage across critical foreign geographies.
