The feasibility study of the “Murree Tourist Glass Train Project,” which will connect Islamabad and Murree, will be completed by the end of April 2025. The National Engineering Services Pakistan will conduct the study.
After study approval, it will fly to all relevant authorities before being awarded the contract through international tendering under the public-private partnership model. The proposed 55 km-long glass train route will stretch from H-9 Railway Station, Islamabad.

It met at NESPAK House in Islamabad and was presided over by Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar to discuss the feasibility study and major project aspects. Much of the discussion held during the meeting explored various ways of ensuring that all stakeholders make it possible for the project to succeed. Representatives of NESPAK went on to explain that the study is indicated to include the evaluation of railway tracks and station infrastructure, geological surveys, and preservation of the environment.
The route, cost, and method of implementation would be finalized by the study to proceed with the next steps of the project, award of contracts, and execution.
