On Monday, the popular hill station of Murree came under the chill of its very first snow during the winter of the year 2024 when temperatures fell to at least -1°C at night against 8° C in the day.
In preparation for a high number of tourists, City Traffic Police have come up with a holistic traffic management plan. Deployment of around 200 traffic wardens was done for smooth traveling and avoiding gridlocks.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mughees Ahmad Hashmi confirmed that the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Inspector General of Police, and Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police would be strictly followed as well.
To streamline traffic, various roads have been recently turned one-way, including View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road, and Imtiaz Shaheed Road. Major areas, including GPO Chowk, Cecil Hotel, Habib Bank, and Bank Road to Girls Degree College, have been declared parking-free zones for decongestion during the snowfall.
