The federal minister for petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, has dismissed the claims regarding federal cabinet approval for selling a 15% stake in the Reko Diq project to Saudi Arabia. He also stated in the media that the federal cabinet did not approve the sale and negotiations were still in progress. A deal related to shares in Reko Diq with Saudi Arabia, according to Dr. Malik, is anticipated to conclude next year.

Balochistan, the site of the Reko Diq project, is one of the biggest undeveloped copper-gold mines in the world, and it has very promising potential to bring economic advantages in the future.
