Tonight Muslims all over the world, including in Pakistan, will commemorate Shab-e-Meraj 2025 with highly religious attitudes and the largest fervors. Worshippers will congregate in mosques to perform special prayers seeking Allah’s (SWT) mercy and forgiveness. Mosques and other learning centers will hear discourses from religious dignitaries talking about the incident of Meraj stressing its importance in the teachings of Islam.
At the same time, special prayers and Mahafil will be offered in mosques and homes for the supplication of the Almighty. All houses, buildings, and roads are decorated with buntings, candles, and colored lights for the celebration.

Muslims celebrate Shab-e-Meraj every year on the 27th of the lunar month Rajab-ul-Murajab. The term Meraj comes from the Arabic word Urooj, which means ascension. The holy Prophet (PBUH) went to the highest heaven on that night to see Allah (SWT). It was also that night when five daily prayers were made obligatory.
Shab-e-Meraj is also known as the Night of Ascension, a significant occurrence in Islamic history celebrated on the 27th night of the Islamic month of Rajab. The event marks the miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from the Kaaba in Mecca to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, followed by the Meraj to the heavens.
