Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub has severely condemned the sentence given to the PTI workers by military courts saying verdicts are unconstitutional. Addressing reporters in Haripur, he argued that military court decisions are beyond the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and could adversely affect the country’s investment opportunities. He mentioned the example of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which got a bid of only PKR 10 billion against an expected figure of PKR 85 billion.

Note that the PTI negotiation committee claims two main issues: constituting a judicial commission to investigate events of May 9 and November 26 and releasing under-trial political prisoners. He said that otherwise, a civil disobedience movement would be started by the PTI. It could include stopping remittances to the government from overseas Pakistanis as an ultimatum in this regard.
