Pakistan and Kazakhstan to Establish Display Centers to Boost Bilateral Trade

As a result of the mega meeting convened by the Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Privatization & Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan have essentially agreed to set up display centers to promote bilateral ties between them. Display centers will be places where textiles, sports goods, handicrafts, surgical equipment, leather, and agricultural machinery will be displayed.

Accompanying Abdul Aleem Khan in this important meeting with Kazakhstan was his counterpart as well in Pakistan, Ambassador to Kazakhstan Nouman Bashir Bhatti, who wished to also establish these centers, promising full cooperation.

According to Abdul Aleem Khan, large-scale facilities would be made available, under one roof, at both ends of the business communities. The minister said that the bilateral trade volume with Kazakhstan would increase by 100 percent within the next three years. Rather than directing the needs of foreign investors to many locations, these needs would be addressed in one central location.

Kazakhstan was no different from all other Central Asian countries that the common business strategy would espouse to enhance trade within the region. This nation of Pakistan plans to increase its exports to Kazakhstan by 20% within a year along with plans to open Exhibition Centers in Baku, Almaty, and other Central Asian cities.

Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin denoted his gratitude to the minister for intense bilateral cooperation, including the representation of his office’s fullest support. Federal Secretaries and key officials were present at the meeting and informed on important departmental issues.
