The Prime Minister, Mr. Shehbaz Sharif has a strong opinion among the priority areas touching on economies, trade, and investment relations between Pakistan and Qatar, adding that this will be beneficial to both countries. Speaking at the event held at the Qatari Embassy in Islamabad to mark Qatar’s National Day celebration, he said the visit by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was thus going to further consolidate relations between the two nations.
In his keynote address, PM Shehbaz noted Qatar’s enthusiasm in supporting skilled Pakistani youth, particularly in IT and AI. He mentioned an all-encompassing program that he set up for sending gifted Pakistani youth to Qatar. He added that these individuals would be “the great ambassadors of Pakistan” in that nation of the Gulf. He reiterated that those ties between Pakistan and Qatar were strong and mutually sustained. This relationship, he said, was unbreachable and based on mutual respect and aspirations.
The prime minister congratulated Qatar on its National Day and praised the dynamic leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in steering the country towards remarkable progress. He added that Qatar had successfully hosted the FIFA World Cup, demonstrating the energy, vision, and commitment to excellence the nation possessed. Shehbaz also appreciated Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani for supporting hosting the exhibition titled “Manzar: Art and Architecture of Pakistan from the 1940s to Today” at the National Museum of Qatar.

Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, has extolled great friendship between the two nations, with extensive progress recorded in various bilateral relationship sectors such as trade, education, culture, and disaster relief. He stated Qatar’s readiness to work closely with Pakistan on various programs that would benefit both partners.
Qatar has joined Pakistan in performing projects such as rebuilding residential areas devastated by floods in Pakistan and providing education to out-of-school children. Such projects, however, reflect the depth of this partnership.
The ambassador also emphasized the global role of Qatar in humanitarian aid, especially in conflict-affected and disaster-hit regions. He avowed that Qatar was willing to take its role toward sustainable development and peaceful solutions. Meanwhile, the prime minister shared updates on Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts, including a recent call to his Lebanese counterpart regarding the safe evacuation of 250 Pakistani pilgrims stranded in Damascus. He expressed gratitude for the full assurance from Lebanon regarding the facilitation of their return by land routes.
