Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB Chairman, warmly congratulated the Pakistan Blind Cricket Team on winning the T20 World Cup 2024 brilliantly. The most significant trophy for the team came through an impressive ten-wicket win against Bangladesh in the final match held in Multan.
Naqvi said that he felt immense pride in the boys for their brilliant display since the defense and commitment made them achieve this momentous milestone. “The players of the Blind Cricket Team displayed great performance that won them the highly coveted title of T20 World Champions,” he added. Naqvi also congratulated the management team for its essential role in scouting and guiding the players toward success.

The final was truly exciting, with Bangladesh posting a target of 139 runs, having lost seven wickets. Babar Ali from Pakistan was devastating with the ball, taking three wickets for Pak, while Motiullah and Mohammad Salman picked up one each. Response from Pakistan’s opening combo, Nisar Ali and Mohammad Safdar, chased down the target in only 11 overs without a wicket loss. Nisar Ali scored 72* while Mohammad Safdar made 47*.
This extraordinary victory by 10 wickets not only gave Pakistan its first Blind T20 World Cup title but also consisted of the sheer brilliance and determination of the squad. Chairman Naqvi expressed hope that the team would carry forward this momentum into the upcoming tournaments.
